ROAD DETOUR! Visitors coming to the Wilder Homestead on US Route Rt 11 to County Rt 23 will encounter a road closure/detour sign for work scheduled between Aug. 1 and Oct. 26, 2023.
Those coming from the west and through Malone will not be affected. You will turn right onto Rt. 23, but will then turn off onto Donahue Road before the closed portion. You would be considered “local traffic” . Those coming from the east, towards Malone, have 2 good options to bypass the closed parts of Rt 23:
1. If coming on US Rt 11, through Chateaugay NY, bypass the first County Rt 23 exit and continue towards Malone. There will be another left where County Rt 23 meets US Rt 11 again. Make that turn, then take the first right onto Donahue Road and right at the T onto Stacy Road. 2. If coming from Plattsburgh area take Route 374 to Brainardsville, turn left at the flashing light onto County Route 24. In approximately 8 miles follow the sign to turn right on Perham Rd, then a slight left on Stacy Rd
